What you can search for, how results are ordered, and what Popular Hubs are.

What can I search for on Dinetap?

Restaurants by name, cuisines, locations and hubs, and facilities and dietary options. Suggestions cover all of them at once, so typing “Marina” brings back Marina Bay Sands, Marina Square and Marina One with the number of restaurants in each, alongside individual restaurants like Marina Seafood House and Marina Bay Grill.

How do I search for a restaurant?

Tap the search field at the top of the home screen and start typing. Suggestions appear as you go, each with what it is: a popular hub, a cuisine, a restaurant. Tap one to go straight to it, or tap the “Search for” row at the bottom of the list to see everything that matches.

How are search results ordered?

Nearest first by default, measured from the area you have selected rather than from wherever you happen to be standing. The sort control sits in the filter row directly above the list.

What are Popular Hubs?

Malls, districts and terminals that hold several restaurants between them: Marina Bay Sands, Bugis Junction, Changi Airport, Sentosa. Each hub shows how many restaurants are inside it, so you can start from a place you are already going to rather than from a map pin.

Filters & Results

Applying filters, and why the list changes when you do.

What filters can I use?

Cuisine, dietary preferences, ratings, and facilities. Sorting by distance sits in the same row.

How do I apply filters?

The row above the results holds them. Tap a filter, choose what you want, and the list updates underneath. The control on the left of the row shows how many filters are currently on.

Why do fewer restaurants appear after applying filters?

Filters narrow the list to places that match every one you have set, not any of them. Asking for a cuisine, a dietary option and outdoor seating at once will usually return a short list; clearing one of them widens it again.

Why did my results change after I changed location?

Results are always for the area you have selected, and distances are measured from it. Changing the area changes both which restaurants are in range and the order they come back in.

Restaurant Details

What is on a restaurant page, and what you can do from it.

What information is on a restaurant page?

Photos, a short description of the kitchen, the facilities it offers, its Google rating and review count, how far away it is, a typical spend for two, its opening hours, a phone number, directions, and its menu.

How do I know whether a restaurant is open?

The listing carries a status line: a green dot and “Open”, with the closing time next to it. It reflects the opening hours on the restaurant’s page.

Can I see the menu before I go?

Yes. The menu sits on the restaurant’s page, with the date it was last updated shown above it, so you can tell how current it is.

Can I view photos by category?

Yes. The gallery splits into All, Ambience, Food and Drinks, so you can check the plate and the room without scrolling through everything.

How do I get directions?

The restaurant’s page has Call and Directions buttons under its rating. Directions hands off to the maps app on your phone.

Something on a listing is wrong. How do I report it?

Email support@dinetap.com with the restaurant’s name and what is out of date, and we will get it corrected.

Location & Country

How Dinetap decides what is near you.

Why does Dinetap ask for my location?

To show what is around you and how far away it is. Every listing carries a distance, and the default sort is nearest first, so both need a starting point.

How do I change the area I am browsing?

The area you are in is shown at the top of the home screen. Tap it to pick a different one. You are not held to wherever you happen to be, which is the point: you can plan for the area you are heading to.

Account & Access

Signing in, and browsing without it.

Do I need an account to use Dinetap?

No. You can browse as a guest and use the app without signing in. Signing in is there if you want it.

Which sign-in methods can I use?

The sign-in options shown on the app's sign-in screen. Whichever you use, the app receives only what you authorise that provider to share, which is set out in the app privacy policy.

How do I delete my account?

From inside the app, and it is permanent. Deleting your account walks through the steps on screen and says what happens to your data.
